"AS YOU ARE"

Writer. Author. Thinker. Storyteller.

Welcome to my website. As a professional Author, I aim to create a better understanding of the world and our place in it — a mission which has caused me to evaluate my thinking.  Statistics and societal pressures have away holding you back because you are not accepted "As you are". However, death knows no color, race, age or gender. We all will return to the earth one day. Its best we aim to be just "as we are"and break racial barriers, societal pressures and categorical boxes we place people in with statistical data.  Read some of my work below, as I bring honor to my grandmothers memory.

In Memory of My Grandmother

It was love at first glance

As I gazed upon your angelic face

And u uttered the words DeCarmen

Not my name but yours given to me,

You saw in me things that I could never see

But u always knew what I could be

You held my hand in yours

And walked me through that talent agent’s doors

Ha Ha that was fun

I knew then u saw things in me I could never see

But you always knew what I could be

It was you and I side by side here in this church

Giving blessing unto God

I knew then u saw things in me I could never see

As u paraded me around so proud

Your love for me grew and mine for u

The bond at near birth was more than self-worth

Because I was becoming the young lady

You knew I could be

"As You Are" "If only the world was colored blind" Reviews

"Just finished your book. Such a lovely story with a powerful message. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to hear more from you."
Definitely could identify with Iyanna. I'm half black and Puerto Rican. I don't speak Spanish so I have never really been accepted as PR, and I'm light skinned so not really accepted as black all the time either.

Your book As You Are was recommend to me by a mutual friend . It had only taken me 2 days to complete this book and I just want to say thank you. I laughed, cried and related. I commend you on such a job well done. Please recommend any other books. I'll be happy to invest. Best Wishes

Absolutely loved the book! Very eye opening! It made me laugh, it made me cry and feel proud in some chapters I read. I defiantly, feel as though this is a book that should have been written. In addition, it couldn't have come at a better time in our society.
